ATTENTION ALL VENDORS:
By filling out a vendor application, you are committing to this event for TWO DAYS.  Those days will be
(Saturday and Sunday) and you agree not to breakdown or leave until 3:00 PM Sunday. In addition we are
trying to kick this event off Friday night the 6th.  So get lots sleep because we'll be busy.

                                                                                                           ALL VENDORS:
Vendors must complete and return one (1) booth application and one (1) City of California City temporary business license application.  Applications MUST be POSTMARKED
no later than April 15th.   Food vendor applications must be received no later than April 15. 

 
                                                                                                                            ALL FOOD BOOTH VENDORS: 
                                                                                                                                                                                                                      
Food vendors must comply with the Kern County Environmental Health Services Dept. requirements and provide  proof of possession of a Kern County Health Certificate. 
All cooking booths must have a fire extinguisher in or attached to the booth.  The California City Fire Department and the Kern County Health
Department will be inspecting all booths for compliance>
 
                                                                                  
                                                                                                                                 LIABILITY INSURANCE:
Desert Tortoise Days no longer provides liability insurance coverage for vendors. You must obtain your own liability coverage and provide evidence of insurance with your application.

 

                                                                                                                                         COST:

 

BOOTH SPACES: $30.00 per day or $50.00 for both days, for one (1) 12 foot by 12 foot space. If your booth or vehicle is wider than 12 feet you MUST buy an extra space to
accommodate it. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
 
ELECTRICAL HOOK UP: $5.00 a day per applicant who requires power; (ONE PLUG PER APPLICANT). All booths must supply their own heavy extension cord. Power is limited.
NO ELECTRICAL available for running RVs or trailers.

 

                                                                                                                             CITY BUSINESS LICENSE:

 

Applicants who wish to conduct business within the City of California City for one (1) to twelve (12) days during a fiscal year must pay a license fee of $10.00 per day. There is no charge
for nonprofit organizations, however, it must be completed and  returned.  Be sure to include the TAX EXEMPT ID number.
 
 

          DISCOUNT of $5.00 for applications postmarked on or before April 10th.

Personal checks or money orders are preferable; cash or money order after 15 April; NO CREDIT CARDS. If you desire a receipt immediately,
please send a STAMPED SELF‑ADDRESSED ENVELOPE, otherwise, booth space number, receipt and business license will be available at check in.  
ALL FEES ARE NON‑REFUNDABLE.
 
 
                                                                                                                                IMPORTANT NOTICE:

ALL TAXABLE SALES FOR THIS EVENT MUST BE REPORTED TO THE STATE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION IN BAKERSFIELD, CA. The Desert Tortoise
Days Committee will be providing vendor information to this agency.
                   
                                                                                                                                         SET UP:
 
 ALL VENDORS may check in and begin setting up after 12 noon on Friday May 1st. NO EXCEPTIONS FOR EARLIER SET UP!!  Only vehicles essential to
working booth are allowed in the booth area.  All others MUST be parked in the parking lot.  Overnight parking for vendors is available close to booth area.
 
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL VENDORS: Due to the size of Central Park and  the layout of the vendor booths,
Balloons of all kinds; ALL WATER TOYS; water guns, wienies, canons, etc.; also percussion caps, cap or pop‑guns, or any facsimile of a toy gun
ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR SALE. Please comply with this request from the City of California City Police Department and the
Desert Tortoise Days Committee. Failure to comply with this request MAY result in the removal of offending vendor(s) from Central Park.
